Donation to SSPCA

"Touch a Life" Fund Raising and Charity Project 2013

Charity Project:

The OCs would like to thank:
- all the sponsors for the kind contribution
- all the members and FOL who have helped in the fund raising
- those who have attended the project and helped up on the day.

Part 1 , Phase I

Date: 27-Jan-13
Time: 2:30-4:30pm
Our club distributed RM150 worth of food, necessities and RM200 cash angpow to each family.

Families details:

1. Family 1 - (student Ms. Jenny Bong Ting Ting) 4 children grossly neglected by parents and all are looked after by aging grandfather who also has to look after his wife suffering from stroke.Jenny's mother just delievered a son a few months ago who has given away upon birth. Her grandfather is the one who is taking care of the whole family.


2. Family 2 - (student Mr. Hii Yi Chien) lives at squatters at Sungai Apong state land.
Mother is diabetic with 2 insulin injections daily and father is ill from pancreatic cancer.
They have 4 childrens aged 18,11,10 and Wu Quan is the youngest.
The family receives welfare of RM300 per month.


3. Family 3 - (student Jong Yen Choo) - Yen choo's father died from cancer 5 years ago.
Her mother looks after 3 daughters 12,9,7 and one blind mother-in-law. 
The family survive on welfare, live in wooden hut squatting on state land.


4. Family 4 - (student Olivia Jeraji) 3 school going children aged 15,12,10.
The father is an odd job worker who earn RM600 per month.  Room rental is RM200.00.


5. Family 5 - (student Mohd Ridzuan) 4 children and their parents live in makeshift lorry container shack on towkay.  The father is a watchman earns RM500 per month. 









Part 1, Phase II

Date: 03-Feb-13
Time: 2:30-4:30pm

Our club will distribute RM150 worth of food, necessities and RM300 cash angpow to each family.

Families details:

1. Family 1 Batu Kawa- 5 school going children aged 12,11,10,6 & 3.  Timotius' father is a reformed gangster and now a devoted Christian since 6 years ago.  He used to work as a daily paid welder but recently he has been diagnosed with heart problem COROSNSTEMI and is undergoing outpatient treatment at Batu Kawa clinic.  Due to his heart conditions, he is currently unable to work.  Timotius,12 is skinny, looks v pale and probably malnourished.  Little bro 6 year old does not attend pre-school. The Family lives in wooden shack on friend's rented land on a building site which functions as a storage area and in return for keeping an eye on the goods, no rental but have to pay their water and electricity.



2. Family 2 Batu Kawa - 4 going to school children aged 16,13,11 and 9. 2 elder live with their maternal grandparents at RPR Batu Kawa to save on bus transportation costs.  Father works as a daily paid house painter at RM500. The house is a very small wooden hut on his sister's land.  Boon is a bright student and has won school prizes for mathematics, science and singing.  Boon and his younger brother walk to school.



3. Family 3 Nanas Road- Brayan has a younger sister and their father passed away when Sandra was 8 months old after which their Indonesian mother disappeared after dumping her children onto the grandparents.Brayan's aging grandfather who is the breadwinner of the family works at a construction site.  The family lives in a hut owned by someone else in Kampung Kudei squatters area.  There is no electricity connection, rely on generator.



4. Family 4 Batu Kawa- The family lives in a simple house at Desa Wira Batu Kawa Resettlement area.  Father is a carpenter earning RM600 per month. Four children aged 14,11,8 and 4.  Father is an orphan. They are occupying wife's family land.  Father's eyesight is failing due to glucoma and he has been procastinating at getting his eyesight treated. [POTENTIAL TO HELP HIS EYESIGHT]



5. Family 5 Batu Kawa- Mother is a widow who works as a cleaner at a coffeeshop at BDC from 4pm-12 midnight for RM400 per month. 2 daughters aged 15 & 10.  Father passed away in 2011. The family lives in a rented hut at the back of landlord's house for RM100.  The mother suffer from high blood pressure above 200. The eldest daughter also works as a part-time with mom.
