CHARITY HEALTH FAIR 2012 "“Empower Body.Mind.Soul"

Date : 20-22.4.2012 (Friday-Sunday)


Time : 10.00am – 09:00pm each day
[Health screening is from 10am-5pm]

Venue : North Court A & B, The Spring Shopping Mall, Kuching

Event purpose :
This event will be jointly organized together with the Sarawak State Health Department. The objective of this Charity Health Fair is to increase health awareness among the public by providing free health screenings, exhibitions, information, health related demonstrations and activities. At the same time, we hope to raise some much needed fund for our Club’s service projects.
- Free health screening for the public – e.g. Blood pressure, BMI, cholesterol, etc.
- 14 sale booths - 11 companies
- 7 exhibition stalls (E1-E7) to educate the public – e.g. diabetes awareness, breast cancer, SLE, counterfeit drugs, etc.

Touch-a-Life 2012

Venue : respective homes of the 5 families
  

   Project objective : help the poor families (no or low income, family members with disables or sickness) 
   identified through the help of Catholic Social Welfare, Kuching to get some basic   
   needs / food stuffs to release their burden

 
   Activities: Poor Family home visiting, as well as delivery of the food stuffs/ ang pows to them.
  
   Members attending : Kuek Hoon, Eng Eng, Emily, Audrey Wee, Jason, Joanne, Jenny
   FOL : Wilson
   Fund Raised : RM 3000
   Each family got about RM200 goodies + RM300 cash angpow
   Surplus : RM600 for next project use.

Family 5 : Thomas Bida (Age 80, wife 78, 1 son staying together, working at flower farm)

Thanks to volunteers from the Church : Joan Choong and Rosalind Johnson help us to sort list the poor family and bring us to visit them and deliver the goodie bags and ang pow to them.
