Adopt-a-School 2011:SK Semban - Introduction
Adopt-a-School 2011: SK Semban, Kpg. Rejoi, Bengoh

Project partner: Batik Boutique Hotel
Background Info
This project was kick-started in partnership with Batik Boutique Hotel in February 2011. The project was essentially to supply some much needed items to the school SK Semban, located at Kpg. Rejoi, Bengoh. This primary school consists of 36 students at present and caters to the children from the surrounding villages like Kpg. Semban and Kpg. Rejoi.
There is no road to Kpg. Rejoi. You have trek through trails and over bamboo bridges to get there. For the members of the project entourage that went for the hand-over on 8-9.5.2011, we soon came to realize that it was no leisurely stroll.

We spent about 2 months raising funds and donations for this project. The response from our club members, friends, family and members of the public was amazing! We would like to take this opportunity to thank:-

Environmental Project : Collecting & Selling Old Newspaper

Venue : Lions Louis Ng's residence
Type of project: Environmental, Fund Raising
Club's organizing chairperson : Joanne Wong
Members attended : Joanne Wong, Jenny Chu, Emily Liew, Louis Ng, Derbe Tang, Sim Siaw Ching, Lau Kuek Hoon, Audrey Wee
This is our club's environmental project, aimed at 1) Reuse waste 2) Raise fund for club's admin. account. Through our members' effort, we managed to collect in total 394 kg of old newspaper and raised a total of RM118.20 for our club's admin. account !
Thanks to the following members:
1) Derbe (collecting 66.80 kg of newspaper)
2) Audrey Wee & Kuek Hoon (76.65 kg)
3) President Benjamin (65.40 kg)
4) IPP Siaw Ching (37 kg)
5) Joanne, Jenny & Emily (147.75 kg)
Special thanks to our member Louis Ng for kindly arranging the old newspaper buy-back.
